Participating in Devmountain’s new scholarship opportunity means you have a chance to win a $2,500 scholarship that can be used toward the education of your choice!
Devmountain has officially created a scholarship opportunity that can be awarded to anyone looking to further their education (some restrictions apply). Only one winner will be chosen out of all the applicants per scholarship term. The scholarship winner can use the scholarship toward Devmountain, a four-year degree, online school, trade schools, or any other form of education. If you want to participate, you’ll have to:1) Read the entry requirements to see if you are eligible.
2) Create a 30-90 second video according to the video guidelines on the application page.
3) Fill out a form and submit your video!
Why Did Devmountain Create This Scholarship?
Our goal at Devmountain is to help people change, gain more perspective, and get more education so that they can start a career they’re proud of. We know that education allows each of us to improve our opportunities in life; that’s why we offer coding courses. But, we are also aware that not everyone has the resources available to get the education they need.
“There are lots of opportunities out there for people to educate themselves,” Cahlan Sharp, founder of Devmountain, said. “Unfortunately what holds people back are the resources to take on those opportunities. So, part of the reason we are doing this scholarship is because we believe in the power of education in all its forms and we want to help people gain access to those forms of education in whatever form they may take.”
We decided to allow this scholarship money to be used at the education institution of the winner’s choice because we believe strongly in any form of education.
Who Should Participate?
If you’re thinking about making a change, jumping into something new, or even just thinking about education but need a little push to take the jump, this scholarship is for you.
“We hope that this scholarship is something that will [hopefully] …take out a little bit of that risk so that you can transform your life,” Sharp said.

Where Can I Use the Scholarship?
One winning applicant will receive our $2,500 scholarship. The award money is meant to cover the winner’s educational expenses in the field or major of their choosing. That means that all monetary awards must be applied to cover the winner’s college, university, vocational school, or coding bootcamp tuition and education-related expenses such as room and board, books, and/or supplies.
The money cannot be used toward non-educational expenses.

How Do I Get the Scholarship?
The Devmountain Scholarship is a scholarship awarded to anyone looking to further their education. In order to be considered for the Devmountain Scholarship, participants will have to answer the following question in a 30-90 second video: What impact has technology had on your daily life?

How Much Time Do I Have?
You can submit your videos for the Devmountain Scholarship now! The deadline for our first scholarship term ends October 31, 2018. We will award and announce the scholarship winner in November 2018.
