Yes, it is helpful for you to know a little bit about graphic design before learning UX design, but technically speaking, it is not necessary. You will inevitably pick up skills in one design discipline as you work on the other because both graphic design and user experience design should be based on human-centered design principles (at least, for professional purposes). You can make websites accessible with great design.
What Parts of Graphic Design Should You Know?
First of all, graphic design can be a large umbrella term for visual design, which means it’s essentially impossible to master, even after a lifetime of study. So, what parts of graphic design should you know before jumping into UX design? It can be helpful to have an understanding of typography, pictures/colors, and layouts such as templates and grids–all available online. You don’t need an in-depth knowledge related to those three things, but if you’re looking for a place to start, you could do worse than googling those.

What’s the Difference Between UX Design and UI Design?
User experience (UX) design is different from User Interface (UI) design, which are both different from graphic design, but there is overlap between all three. A good professional designer would most likely have some understanding of all three, but may specialize in one. In short, the difference between UX design and UI design is what is being designed.
In UI design, you are designing the page or product visuals, from where buttons appear on the screen to how each web page displays on large, medium, and small screens. In UX design, you are designing for a more invisible type of content, meaning how the user interacts with the page or product, from what content is displayed first to the user to how many clicks (or taps) it takes a user to get from step one to step two in a multi-step online checkout process.
