Student Profile: Theo Beck

In this post you’ll hear more from Theo Beck, a current DevMountaineer and student in DevMountain’s Dallas Web Development Immersive course. Beck is a Louisiana resident who started the DevMountain Web course this previous August. This last week we were able to catch up with Theo to talk about his experience in class and to get to know him a little better. Theo is now a little over a month into the course.

What is your Occupation?

Right now I am a proud student at DevMountain’s Dallas web development course. I used to be a table card dealer. I’m looking for a change.

Where are you from?

I am from Shreveport, Louisiana

What is your Super Power?

Honestly, at any random moment I can be observed honing my (desired) telekinetic abilities. It can, and it must be perfected. Outside of that, I like to think that I’m pretty good at simple peacekeeping…I mean, even Bruce Wayne had to start somewhere.

Describe Your Style.

I’m almost certain I could finish this life wearing only two colors – black & grey. So yeah, that’s my style.

What Brand, or Product Can You Not Live Without?

Clothing Brand? American Eagle. But I could live with an equally good replacement. Product? A combination of Beats by Dre & Apple Music. I’d probably die without music.

Why Dallas, TX?

Dallas is pretty much my most favorite place to visit when I want to get away from home. I could even make a same-day roundtrip If I needed to. Outside of that, there’s a lot of diversity in the city, and most importantly, it’s the home of the Cowboys!

What Do You Plan to Do With Your Newly Acquired Coding Skills?

I’d love to be a part of a team who is passionate about improving the environment through technological and/or social advances.

Any Words to Live By?

Yea. Idealism breeds progress.
