Frequently Asked Questions...

Have you ever watched a web developer for a while? We have. For small periods, they can live off caffeine and junk food. There is a decent chance they are wearing a T-shirt that was given to them for free. And, most impressively, they will endure hours and hours of frustration and torment all for that glorious moment when — Boom! — everything comes together and works perfectly. (Until the next Chrome update.)

It’s a tough life, but someone has to do it. The internet has changed the world and whether a medical professional wants to research life-saving treatments or some dude just wants to watch cat videos before going to bed, front-end developers make all that interaction possible. They often work on teams, big or small, with other developers, and maybe a manager, designer, and some other support staff making websites and web applications. Deadlines can be rough. Stress can sometimes be high. But moments of success make it all worthwhile.

A love of code and tech is a great start, but it takes a lot more to succeed in the world of web development. You can’t just take a web development course and call it good. Great programmers are also:

  • Good at Time
  • Management
  • Patient and Positive
  • Consistently Learning
  • Lovers of Puzzles and Problem Solving
  • Good Communicators
  • Detail Oriented

We understand it’s not possible for everyone to join us in person all of the time, but, for everyone else, there’s nothing like being here.

For those who want to get out of their current environments, be surrounded by passionate learners and instructors, and have a once-in-a-lifetime experience, we offer blended (a mix of remote and in-person available in Lehi) and fully in-person web development courses (available at all campuses).

We hope to see you soon in Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Houston, or Lehi!

Our Web Development course is designed to be as close to in-person as possible without being on campus. There is live instruction, interaction with instructors, the ability to ask questions, and a way to work on projects with peers. You’ll be at home. The first half of the program is a shared experience with students from all courses. Then the classmates that share your specialization will split into a small group to focus on web development and building portfolio projects. View Remote “Campus” →

There are two ways to answer this question.
First, our full-stack Utah bootcamp is designed so that people with basic computer literacy should be able to graduate. For instance, you don’t need to have been coding since the days of Fortran, but you should feel comfortable installing programs and apps on your computer without regularly asking someone for help.
Second, all that said, we aren’t sure why anyone would choose to study something they have no experience with. A little experience with programming will not only help you complete your coding course, but it will help you feel confident that you’re studying something you enjoy.

We understand the desire to be reassured, but this isn’t something anyone can know in advance. (And beware of anyone who tells you they can.)
What we can tell you is our Outcomes Team tracks each and every recent graduate and their employment status. They are ready to help you polish your LinkedIn profile, optimize your resume, prepare for interviews, and help in many other ways.
If you want to learn more, we encourage you to look at our published Outcomes Report and research job demand from reputable sources. As you do so, keep in mind demand can vary a lot by circumstance and region, and high demand is still not a guarantee of employment.

Do you have a different question? Well, aren’t you precocious! Feel free to reach out to us any time about any old thing.
